Jax Urban Core Economic Development Community Conversation
January 23 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm
For the past few months, Groundwork Jacksonville has been working with other community leaders and LISC Jacksonville to help develop a series of Community Conversations around economic growth in Jacksonville’s urban core communities. We kicked this effort off with an amazing Community Conversation last month, keynoted by Brookings Institution Senior Fellow Jennifer Vey and JaxUSA Partnership President Aundra Wallace and local leaders on the front line of community economic development.
On the evening of January 23rd, we will host another lineup of leading thinkers ready to focus on how we can strategically increase incomes in our urban core neighborhoods for January, headlined by Janice Urbanik, the Senior Director of Innovation and Strategy with the National Fund for Workforce Solutions.
These forums are a place to interact with national and local leaders, public officials, and private sector colleagues about creative economic development strategies for low and moderate-income communities. While it’s taken a good deal of time and energy, it’s beginning to come together and wanted to give you the opportunity to be engaged as well. As part of that work, we’ve launched a website to aggregate the opportunities that already exist in the community and share out the information from these events.
These conversations work best when we have a large and diverse audience, so we’d ask you to take a moment and see what we’ve been up to at http://econdevforumjax.net/
Join us for the Reception at 5:00PM and the Session from 6:00PM to 8:00PM
